In this role Stephen develops fruitful relationships to make the best use of NaREC’s facility assets and technical staff. Stephen has a history in both technical sales and marketing positions in retail, and the major process industries.

Stephen Wilson

Since joining Narec in 2005, Stephen has been our key-link in to the industries for developing new testing and service offerings across the different business streams of Narec. Previously Director of Sales and Marketing at Narec, Stephen has carried out identification of market/industry needs , review of competition, development of collaboration and partnership opportunities including commercial testing and services agreements.

Stephen has worked extensively in sales and business development with renewable technology developers, industry and key regional & renewables stakeholders. Stephen represents Narec's and the independent industry view on a number of work groups including the Offshore Wind Strategy Group at the BWEA, Marine Action Plan groups with DECC and advised the ETI's strategy process for both offshore Wind and Marine.

As Director of Wind and Marine, Stephen is responsible for the director of Narec position in these rapidly changing and expanding renewable sectors. The Wind and Marine team consists of around 45 engineers and technical people delivering complex engineering, testing and consultancy projects. Within the Wind and Marine Division is the largest independent blade testing facility and a large scale Marine test facility use for wave, tidal, subsea and foundation type testing activities. Stephen is a mechanical engineering graduate from Leeds University, married with two young boys and a has a passion for good food and drink.
