Recent announcements from the Crown Estate signal the acceleration of offshore wind deployment in UK waters. NaREC, leading independent R&D centre for new energy technologies, is set to play a major role in ensuring the industry is prepared for advances on such a colossal scale.
09/06/08 Safety Technology teams up with NaREC to create Wind Safety Training Programme
Safety Technology, leading safety equipment and training provider to the Utility industry, is partnering with NaREC, to create a unique range of safety training and certification courses for the wind industry, at NaREC’s facilities in Blyth, Northumberland. In response to increasing demand from wind turbine manufactures, farm operators and owners, Safety Technology will now be offering a wide range of safety training courses for engineers and operators working on wind farms, to ensure that wind farms across Europe are operated according to strict safety standards.

Yesterday at All-Energy 2008 in Aberdeen, NaREC announced new proposals to provide significant support the the wind industry as it moves beyond the 5MW generating benchmark.
