NaREC's High Voltage ‘Clothier' Laboratory
Three high voltage test areas are available in the main laboratory, able to cater to a wide range of needs.
In addition the laboratories also offer a range of associated services to support the needs of electrical equipment developers and manufacturers.
- Lightning Impulse: Maximum 2500 kV
- Switching Impulse: Maximum 2500 kV
- Power Frequency: Maximum 1200 kV RMS
- Direct Voltage: Maximum 960 kV
- Temperature rise and short term withstand tests: Maximum 8000A
- Six separate low voltage configurable busbars
- Extensively equipped with bench marked prime-mover and network devices.
