Dr Anthony White
Tony is also Head of Research at Climate Change Capital. He joined Climate Change Capital last year with 25 years energy experience in generation, transmission and financial services. Starting his career in the CEGB, ranging from geothermal energy research, safety, strategy and ending in finance, he left after nine years to join James Capel on the privatisation of the UK electricity market and after three years, joined the National Grid, ending up as Head of Corporate Strategy and a member of the Executive Committee. In 1996, he set up from scratch the Pan-European Utility research team at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson where he developed the fundamental style of utility research.
In 2000, he transferred his team to Schroder Salomon Smith Barney and in 2002 was voted the top utility equity analyst by Extel and his team was rated the best sector team covering the European markets. He obtained a BA and D.Phil in Physics from Oxford University, won a Harkness Fellowship to the United States in 1980, and was awarded an MBA from the City University in 1985. He was a founder member of the UK Government’s Energy Advisory Panel and was made an MBE in the 2004 honours list.
