NaREC’s proposed power system facility will provide land based development and testing of whole ‘power systems’ for offshore technology, including complete nacelles.
Activities will include:
■ Gearbox design, validation and development
■ Convertor and control validation
■ Component testing and research
■ Environmental impact simulation
■ Grid simulation
NaREC's new facility will give manufacturers the unique opportunity to test not only individual components but also whole power systems in conditions more representative of the in-field environment.
