Full scale on and offshore demonstration sites
To meet the needs of both turbine and component manufacturers, and installation and maintenance
contractors, NaREC (with partners) will develop and manage full scale demonstration sites.
This will provide a development route for new technologies for major offshore wind farm installations
and a demonstration platform for the supply chain during its rapid growth.

■ Open Access sites with excellent transportation routes
Developing larger capacity wind technology is a major undertaking and NaREC and other
partners in the North East have the engineering expertise needed to support new ventures
in large wind turbines.
