Drive Train Technical Specialist (DTTS0608)
NaREC is developing a drive train testing facility for the offshore wind and renewables sector. This will be to perform accelerated fatigue and conformance testing of complete systems or the major components (gearboxes, generators, bearings) for up to 10MW wind turbines.
We require an engineer or an expert with extensive experience of design, testing modelling, reliability and validation of drive systems. You will be required to develop the testing methods based upon good engineering and R&D experience and listening to the concerns of manufacturers, operators and academics from the industry. Initially driving the design and development of the facility and then establishing yourself and the facility as the centre of offshore wind drive train research.
The Candidate:
- Will be an experienced, highly motivated and methodical self starter with drive and enthusiasm to achieve results
- Will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the gravitas to represent the company at senior level
- Will have the creativity and insight to identify business opportunities
- Will have extensive experience in the design and testing of large multi megawatt devices
- Will have the skills necessary to analyse and interpret complex data.
