Six engineers from Narec’s offshore wind and marine renewable teams will spend this week at the The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Boulder, Colorado.
Invited by NREL, as part of a Crada research agreement between the two centres to share resources and experiences in the development of future wind energy test facilities, Narec engineers will observe operational procedures and best practices to gain an insight into design philosophies and operational workflow. NREL operates the only drivetrain test facility in the United States and has extensive drivetrain testing experience.
