Narec is offering the opportunity for a reduced cost testing of an industry partners large (>60m) wind turbine blade, through a co-operative research and development agreement (CRADA), in our new 100m Blade Test Facility in Blyth, Northumberland.
Narec’s primary objective for offering this opportunity is to expeditiously commission the facility’s data acquisition system (DAQ), static test winches and fatigue test compact resonant mass systems (CRM), using the CRADA partners test article.
The facility commissioning is anticipated to start in February 2012 and will last for 3 to 6 months. The commissioning will be followed by partner specified testing for an additional 2 to 3 months to fulfil manufacturer static and fatigue test requirements. Alternatively, testing of a second client supplied article for client specified testing may be carried out if requested.
Further details of the CRADA will be announced at the RenewableUK Offshore Wind event in Liverpool on the 29th and 30th June.
