Utilising Narec’s unique facilities and skilled employees, Narec welcomes proposals to collaborate with industry and academia on challenging research, development and deployment projects.

Narec's Energy Link Laboratory is a specialist facility providing testing, analysis and demonstration services to the micro to medium scale power generation technology sector. The laboratory enables technology developers, network operators and industry regulators to identify, investigate and understand issues around network integration and operational characteristics of new power technologies under ‘real world' conditions, prior to connection to the public electricity network.

• A fully configurable, isolated network capable of handling up to1MWe allowing performance characterisation of individual or multiple devices
• Full bandwidth, multiple channel, automated test and measurement systems allowing comprehensive data collection and analysis
• Remote monitoring and control capability for investigations
• Full connectivity for external generation technology testing and analysis
• A comprehensive suite of generation technologies, prime movers, physical models of electrical and heat loads, model generation components and distribution elements such as a virtual power supply.
