The Electrical Networks team at Narec assists the power industry to tackle the major challenges from market demands for network life extension and grid expansion, incorporating both renewable and more traditional sources of generation.
Narec has a global client base in the transmission and distribution industry and is an active member of CIGRE. The integration of offshore renewables provides one of the biggest challenges for the network - Narec has led projects and is currently contributing to design work relating to offshore substations in this area.
Our work in the development and testing of lightning protection systems for the wind generation and aerospace markets demonstrates how we can adapt our high voltage laboratory and technology development facilities to address electrical issues across sectors.
Upholding high industry standards for testing and certification, we are dedicated to preserving the integrity of the electrical network through innovation. We work with the power industry to evolve electrical networks and systems to accommodate the changing characteristics of energy resources.
