Narec is the UK holder of the High Voltage Reference Measurement Standards, previously owned by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and National Grid.
Our UKAS accredited, custom-built calibration room is a temperature and humidity controlled Faraday cage, based at the Clothier Laboratories, but independent from the main high voltage testing laboratory. This allows us to guarantee absolute accuracy of our calibration equipment and ensure that there is no interference with the equipment under calibration.
We can measure DC up to 300kV to an uncertainty of better than ±0.05% or ±500ppm and our capabilities for calibration include:
DC from 10 kV – 180kV and lightning impulse from 10kV - 100kV
