The power industry is changing dramatically under demands for network expansion and the need for upgrades to incorporate new supplies and the expansion of renewable technologies.
With the expansion of wind generation offshore, Narec is working with the industry on the development of the new offshore transmission networks including offshore substations and the onshore grid reinforcements required to connect these remote generation resources to the grid.
The technical barriers to connect offshore wind are challenging and the perceived risk is high, however, together with industry we are committed to overcoming them.
