Narec performs structural testing of blades in accordance with IEC and ISO standards or customer requirements. Dynamic and static tests are undertaken and can include the determination of natural frequencies, modal analysis, post-fatigue
and collapse assessments.
We have developed this capability over the last seven years working in our existing facility with blades of around 50m in length. This facility is accredited to ISO17025 by The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
A new facility to test blades up to 100m in length is currently under construction and will be commissioned in Spring 2012. Accreditation to ISO17025 is planned for the new facility.
